Adult Faith Formation

Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)

Contact: Carrie Montemayor at

Are you an adult and not baptized or not Catholic and want to know more about the basic beliefs of the Catholic Church? Do you want to become Catholic?  Are you a baptized Catholic and needing the sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist?

Start the process now to inquire into the Catholic faith or receive your sacraments by scheduling an initial interview with Carrie Montemayor, Coordinator of Adult Faith Formation, or 479-442-0890 x244.  Starting the process does not require a commitment to become Catholic. It just opens the door.

This year's RCIA session runs from September 1, 2020 through Easter 2021 and will meet once a week, sometimes in person and some weeks on zoom. The Tuesday evening group will meet from 6:30-8:15. A Friday morning group may be formed depending on need. Nursery will not be available this year. Contact Carrie now for more details.

Called & Gifted: Discerment of Charisms

Contacts: Kathleen Blessing

Darlene Martucci

David Lauderdale

Catholic evangelist Sherry Weddell, M.A. and Fr. Michael Sweeney O.P. have spent many years researching and working with thousands of Catholics all over the world to begin the process of discerning the charisms each of us have been given by God at their Baptism and Confirmation. They have put together a two part program that is easy to follow, to help Parishes of all sizes begin the discernment process. Their mission is to help equip Parishes to form Lay Apostles.

We invite you to join us for the Called and Gifted Class. Come, let the Holy Spirit enter your heart and set you on fire with the gifts God has given you to build up his Kingdom on earth. Check out this video to see more of what Called and Gifted is all about.

Ananias Training:

This training seeks to help us become Ananias' to one another, within the Church and out in the world! (see Acts 9:10-19) You will learn to:

  • Recognize the stages of another's spiritual journey through compassionate listening:

  • Listen lovingly to their real questions and opinions about God in order to guide the discovery of how God is present and active in a person's life:

  • Talk about his or her relationship with God; share how he or she came to be a disciple of Jesus; and

  • Share Jesus' story in response to the spiritual hunger of another.

Laudato Si Discussion Group

Contact: Zola Moon ,, 479-236-4139

The Cry of the Earth and the Cry of the Poor… a conversation with Laudato Si (On the Care of

Our Common Home, Pope Francis’ 2015 encyclical) Coronavirus, protests, political divisiveness, rising inequality, pollution everywhere … do we have reason to praise, to hope, to engage? Pope Francis challenges us: “What is the purpose of our life in this world? What is the goal of our work and all our efforts? What need does the earth have of us? … Unless we struggle with these deeper issues, I do not believe that our concern for ecology will produce significant results.” You are invited to join a group using the “See, judge, act” model of Catholic social teaching. We will pray with, reflect on, encounter together, and be inspired to action by Pope Francis’ stunning encyclical, Laudato Si: On the Care of Our Common Home. Facilitated by Zola Moon, PhD (in Human Environmental Dynamics) and a member of St. Joseph and St. Thomas Aquinas, the group will meet by Zoom for a little over an hour a week for eight weeks. Each session will cover a portion of the encyclical with information, reflection, discussion, and ideas for personal prayer, reflection and action. Pre-registration required. Contact Zola Moon at or 479-236-4139 for more information and registration. You will need to be able to Zoom, and have a copy of Laudato Si, a Bible, and an open heart. A copy of the encyclical can be found for free online at, ordered from Our Sunday Visitor or through Amazon.

Group will begin meeting the week of September 14. Daytime or evening group will be formed, depending on interest.
