Adult Faith Formation
Rite of Christian Initiation of Adults (RCIA)
Contact: Carrie Montemayor at cmontemayor@sjfay.com
Do you want to know more about the basic beliefs of the Catholic Church? Do you want to become Catholic? Are you a baptized Catholic and needing the sacraments of Confirmation and/or Eucharist?
Start the process now to inquire into the Catholic faith or receive your sacraments by scheduling an initial interview with Carrie Montemayor, Coordinator of Adult Faith Formation, cmontemayor@sjfay.com or 479-442-0890 x244. Starting the process does not require a commitment to become Catholic. It just opens the door.
RCIA sessions run from August through Easter and meet once a week in person, with occasional meetings on zoom. We offer a Tuesday evening group and a daytime option, depending on need. Contact Carrie now for more details.

Called & Gifted: Discerment of Charisms

Information Video: The world awaits your YES!
Catholic evangelist Sherry Weddell, M.A. and Fr. Michael Sweeney O.P. have spent many years researching and working with thousands of Catholics all over the world to begin the process of discerning the charisms each of us have been given by God at their Baptism and Confirmation. They have put together a two part program that is easy to follow, to help Parishes of all sizes begin the discernment process. Their mission is to help equip Parishes to form Lay Apostles.
We invite you to join us for the Called and Gifted Class. Come, let the Holy Spirit enter your heart and set you on fire with the gifts God has given you to build up his Kingdom on earth. Check out this video to see more of what Called and Gifted is all about.
Ananias Training:
This training seeks to help us become Ananias' to one another, within the Church and out in the world! (see Acts 9:10-19) You will learn to:
-
Recognize the stages of another's spiritual journey through compassionate listening:
-
Listen lovingly to their real questions and opinions about God in order to guide the discovery of how God is present and active in a person's life:
-
Talk about his or her relationship with God; share how he or she came to be a disciple of Jesus; and
-
Share Jesus' story in response to the spiritual hunger of another.
