Confirmation is one of the ensemble of the Sacraments of Initiation into the Church, together with Baptism and Eucharist. Confirmation completes the grace of Baptism by a special outpouring of the gifts of the Holy spirit, which seal or “confirm” the baptized in union with Christ and equip them for active participation in the worship and apostolic life of the Church.

In accordance with the Diocese of Little Rock Confirmation Guidelines, participation in normal faith formation for two consecutive years (Sunday EDGE or Sunday High School Youth Ministry) is required.

The following titles are used in our parish:

Confirmation 1: Students are Eighth grade or older.  Eighth grade students participate in our EDGE program at 3 PM on Sunday during the school year.  High school Confirmation 1 students participate in High School Youth Ministry at 6 PM on Sunday during the school year.  All Confirmation 1 students must complete one service project each semester.  *Please note: 8th grade students who attend Saint Joseph School will complete Confirmation 1 in their school religion class.

Confirmation 2: Students are in Ninth grade or older and in the second consecutive year of faith formation.  Confirmation 2 students attend Sunday evening High School Youth Ministry each Sunday at 6 PM.  Confirmation 2 students also attend seven Confirmation-specific classes on Monday evenings in the Fall semester of Confirmation 2.  Students will also attend a weekend Confirmation retreat in late January as well as complete one service project per semester.

The Sacrament of Confirmation takes place in the Spring semester of Confirmation 2.
