Why more space?

Three new large Middle School classrooms, a new soundproof music classroom, a larger art classroom, and a therapy room.

A 3-year Middle School Program
These new classrooms will allow St. Joseph's School to offer two 8th grade, two 7th grade and two 6th grade classes. This will strengthen our Middle School program.

The additon of an 8th grade program will allow our students to go directly to high school. This will mean many changes for St. Joseph School including the addition of Pre Advanced Placement coursework for our students with faculty members teaching to their strength, their specialty areas.

A permanent Music classroom
St. Joseph will finally have a real music classroom. This will mean that all the time currently spent setting up after weekend masses will be used for teaching instead. Ms. Suzanne will have areas to store the many musical instruments and equipment.

A bigger Art room

The addition of a therapy room
A room has been designated as therapy room. It will be fully equipped for students in need of speech pathology or special education. Mrs. Finch would like to setup dividers so as to allow simultaneous therapy sessions.

St. Joseph will become the only Catholic school in the state of Arkansas to have an equipped therapy room.

The Gym

A gym means numerous new possibilities

Since it moved to Starr Dr., St.Joseph has been missing a gym.

This 8650 Sq.Ft. competition court will seat about 440. It will also include a kitchen/concession area. This will be a great place to hold receptions, large presentations, students music shows. This gym will also give a whole new meaning to the words "inside recess"!!

With the addition of an 8th grade, the gym could become a forum to play AAA games. St. Joseph could have several teams coached on its campus. It could support a Volleyball team, a Basketball team and maybe even a Football team.

The gym will also provide more space for new afterschool programs.

A stage

The stage currently used at St.Joseph is portable. The system works but is not practical. Getting on and off the stage is difficult and students need to be assisted during school shows. As most parents already know the noise level and poor accoustic of the cafeteria leave a lot to desire.

The new 1700 sq.ft professional stage will change all that.
