Purpose: To promote unity and a sense of family among the parish members by providing opportunities for people to gather together. Help provide a welcome and inviting atmosphere for newly registered parishioners and friends.

 

Parish Council
Mike Henry - President

The Parish Council is an advisory body for the pastor. The Parish Council has up to 10 seats; members are elected for a three-year term. The elections are held in May or June, and two or three elected members rotate off each year. Up to one-third can be appointed by the pastor for one-year terms.

Bridge Club
Frank & Lorna James
Meets 2nd & 4th Mondays at 7:00 p.m. in Corry Hall.

 

Coffee & Donuts
Tom & Sandy Weishaar
Organizes and supplies coffee & donuts for Sundays during the School year. Solicits volunteer couples or families for weekly set up and clean up.

 

Funeral Receptions
Vacant
This group coordinates meals for St. Joseph Funerals.

 

Grapevine

The St. Joseph Grapevine is an E-Mailing List that informs parishioners of events, updates and parish news.

 

Greeters Ministry
Ted and Sandi Villinsky
Manifesting the welcoming and friendly nature of St. Joseph Parish, the volunteers of the Greeters’ Ministry take turns welcoming each parishioner with a friendly hello as they arrive for Mass. The volunteers consist of singles, couples and families who are scheduled approximately once every month to six weeks for greeting duty before their preferred Mass. New volunteers are always welcome. Knights of Columbus
Chris Fitz - Grand Knight
The Knights of Columbus is a Catholic, Family, Fraternal, Service organization founded in 1882 by Father Michael J McGivney at St. Mary’s Church in New Haven Connecticut. St. Joseph’s Council of the Knights of Columbus is The Father McCauley Council or Council 6609. Council 6609 was founded in 1974 and has been serving the parish of St. Joseph’s faithfully since then. To be a member of the Knights of Columbus you must be a Catholic male eighteen years or older. For more information on joining the Knights of Columbus contact Grand Knight Chris Fitz at 479-263-4348. Meets on the 1st Thursday of the month at 7:00 p.m. in the Library.

Parish wide picnic held once each year.

 

Welcome Potlucks

This group organizes two Welcome Potlucks every year. Their main purpose is to make new parishioners feel welcome at our parish.

 

Women’s Fellowship

Plans and promotes fellowship among parishioners through social and spiritual activities.

 


PRAYER GROUPS

Knights of Columbus
Chris Fitz - Grand Knight
Meets to pray the Rosary at 6:30 p.m on the 1st Thursday of the month.

 

Legion of Mary
Loraine Giczkowski - President
Meets Mondays at 6:00 p.m. in Room 114 - Society of men and women working for the Blessed Mother through prayer and by visiting the sick and homebound. Auxiliary members support the Legion in prayer.

 

Moms in Touch
Diane Collins
Wednesday, 8:15 a.m. Mom’s prayer group, focuses on praying for our children

 

Monday Morning Prayer Sisters
Concetta Baker
Prayer Group using conversational prayer. Also focuses on scripture (Magnificat) and discussion. Meets at the parlor.

 

Prayerful Playgroup
Janeane Roblee
Moms and infant/toddlers gather to pray, share and play. Meets every Tuesday at different homes. For more information call Janeane at 443-7082

 

Teams of Our Lady (TOOL)
Lay organization for couples to support them living their Sacrament of Marriage. Monthly meetings with discussion and prayer, annual Retreat. Teams limited to 7 couples. New Teams begin when adequate numbers are interested.
